Account & Registration
Do I need an account to bid or buy?
Yes. Anyone can browse listings and read inspection reports, but bidding, Buy It Now and your purchase documents are tied to a signed-in account. Registration is free.
Why do you ask for a photo of my ID?
Every account is registered with a photo of a government-issued ID, which our team reviews against the name on the account. It is what lets a seller trust that a winning bid comes from a real, accountable buyer, and it is the name that goes on your purchase agreement and bill of sale. ID images are visible only to authorised staff.
Is there a fee to register or to bid?
No. Creating an account, watching lots and bidding cost nothing. A buyer commission of 5% applies only to a purchase you complete.
Will other bidders see my name?
No. The bid history on every listing shows each bidder under an anonymous bidder number, and that number is different on every lot — nobody can follow you from one auction to the next. Only our staff can see who placed a bid.
Can I sell on AutoBid24h?
Yes. Apply through Sell Your Vehicle. Sellers are identity-checked and their business credentials reviewed before any of their lots goes live.
Bidding
How does bidding work?
Each listing runs to a published closing time. You place a bid above the current price, and the highest valid bid when the clock reaches zero wins, provided any reserve has been met. The price, the bid count and the countdown update live on the listing while you watch — there is no need to reload.
What is the minimum bid increment?
Each new bid must beat the current price by at least $100. The bid form shows the minimum next bid and will not accept less.
Is my bid binding?
Yes. A bid is a binding offer to buy the lot at that price if you win. The first time you bid on a lot we show you the terms and ask you to confirm them. If you win, you are committed to paying the deposit and the balance — a win left unpaid can lead to cancellation of the sale and suspension of your account under our Terms.
I made a mistake — can I withdraw a bid?
Only briefly, and only for a genuine mistake such as a digit too many. You can withdraw your own bid within 5 minutes of placing it, as long as it is still the highest bid and the auction has more than 60 minutes left to run. The option appears under the bid form. After that, the bid stands.
What happens if someone bids in the last seconds?
A bid placed in the final 2 minutes extends the closing time by 2 minutes, and it keeps extending for as long as bids keep arriving. The auction is won by the highest bid, not the fastest click, and the listing announces every extension as it happens.
How will I know if I have been outbid?
We email you as soon as someone outbids you, and while the listing is open it tells you in real time whether you are the highest bidder or have been outbid. My Bids lists every lot you have bid on and where you stand on each.
What is a reserve price?
Some lots carry a reserve — a minimum price set by the seller. If bidding closes below it, the lot does not sell automatically; it closes as “reserve not met”, and we may contact the high bidder if the seller is willing to accept the offer.
Buy It Now & Deposits
What does Buy It Now do?
On lots that offer it, Buy It Now lets you take the lot at a fixed price instead of waiting for the auction to close. It reserves the lot in your name — bidding stops — while you pay the deposit. See How to Buy Now for the full flow.
How much is the deposit?
Usually 50% of the price, though some lots ask for 20%, 50% or the full amount up front. The figure for each lot is shown before you confirm, and again in your confirmation email. The deposit is part of the price, not an extra fee — it comes off your total.
How long do I have to pay the deposit?
48 hours from the moment you win or use Buy It Now. The deadline is in your email and in My Purchases with a countdown, and we send a reminder before it runs out.
What if I do not pay the deposit in time?
The hold is released automatically and the lot goes back into the auction with the earlier bids intact. Nothing is charged to you. Reserving lots repeatedly without paying can lead to restrictions on your account.
Is the Buy It Now price negotiable?
No. It is the seller’s fixed price for an immediate sale. You can always bid instead — the auction may close below or above it.
What if someone else uses Buy It Now at the same moment?
Only one reservation can succeed. The first one confirmed holds the lot; anyone else is told straight away that it is no longer available, and owes nothing.
Payment
How do I pay?
Deposits and balances are paid by bank wire transfer to the account shown on your invoice — the method written into our purchase agreement. The wire details come with your confirmation email or from our sales team at sales@autobid24h.com. Our bank details do not change by email: if you receive a message asking you to pay a different account, call us before sending anything.
What do I do after sending the payment?
Email the bank receipt (the wire confirmation) to sales@autobid24h.com with your listing ID. Wires often arrive with a reference that does not match your name, and the receipt is how we match your payment quickly — before the deadline runs out.
When is the balance due?
Once your deposit is confirmed, we email you the balance and its due date. If the lot was sold with a 100% deposit there is no balance to pay. The bill of sale is issued as soon as the full amount has cleared.
What costs are added to the price?
A buyer commission of 5% on a completed purchase. Shipping, sales tax, title and registration depend on where you are and are handled separately — your shipping quote is in My Purchases. See Shipping & Fees.
Is my deposit safe?
Your deposit is recorded against your purchase and credited to the price — it appears on your invoice as soon as it is confirmed. If the lot turns out to differ materially from its listing, buyer protection applies; see the Money-Back Guarantee.
After You Win
What happens when I win?
When the auction closes with your bid on top and any reserve met, the lot is reserved in your name and you receive a “You won” email with the winning price, the deposit amount and its deadline. The lot appears in My Purchases straight away.
Which documents do I receive, and where?
Everything is in your account under My Purchases. The purchase agreement, the invoice and the shipping quote are available as soon as the lot is yours to pay for. The bill of sale — the document that transfers ownership — is issued once you have paid in full. Each one can be viewed online or downloaded as a PDF, and the inspection report stays on the listing.
What if the winning bidder does not pay?
The hold is released and we may offer the lot to the next-highest bidder at their own bid — a “second chance” offer, on the same deposit terms. It is an offer, not an obligation: if you receive one, you are free to decline it.
Can I cancel after winning?
A winning bid is a commitment to buy. If something prevents you from completing, tell us immediately at sales@autobid24h.com. An unpaid win is released and may be offered to another bidder, and non-payment can lead to suspension of your account.
Inspections & Condition
Has every lot been inspected?
Yes. Every lot goes through a BID+ inspection before it is listed, using a checklist matched to what it actually is — a motorhome, a boat and an excavator are not judged against the same sheet. The report is on the listing and can be downloaded as a PDF. See BID+ Certified.
Does the inspection mean the lot is fault-free?
No. The report records the condition observed on the day it was carried out — it is a report, not a warranty. Lots are sold as-is, and anything the inspection found is written in it for you to read before you bid.
Can I get more photos or a video?
Ask support with the listing ID. Where the lot’s location allows, we can send additional photos of anything you want to see closer, or a short walk-around video, before you bid.
Can I see the lot in person?
Lots are not kept in one public showroom, so it depends on where the lot is. Contact support with the listing ID and we will tell you whether a viewing can be arranged.
What if the lot is not as described?
If what arrives differs materially from its listing — undisclosed major damage, a wrong VIN or serial number, specifications that do not match — buyer protection applies. It is not a change-of-mind return. See the Money-Back Guarantee.
Delivery
Do you deliver?
Yes, door to door across the United States on insured carriers, with enclosed transport available for high-value and classic lots. If you would rather collect it yourself, pickup can be arranged after payment.
How long does delivery take?
Transport is scheduled once payment has cleared. Most deliveries within the US arrive in up to 14 days, depending on distance, the type of lot and carrier availability. See Transportation.
How much does shipping cost?
It is quoted on the route — pickup location, destination, size and type of lot, and whether it runs. Your shipping quote is one of the documents in My Purchases.
How do I track my delivery?
Once transport is booked we email you a tracking code. Enter it on Track Delivery to follow the status, the ETA and the route on a live map.
What if the lot arrives damaged?
Note it on the delivery condition report before you sign, take clear photos, and contact support the same day with your tracking code. Reporting it at the handover is what lets us act on it with the carrier.
